Trip To Thailand - Day 1 and 2
Trip to Thailand Part One
9:30 minutes to Thailand. Couldn’t complain about the service, stewards male and female were kept busy with supplying us with meals (there were two meals on the flight-both chicken and rice). Those of Muslim faith and Indian extraction had all ordered special meals according to their faith, which meant the “eat anything” passengers were left until last to be served!
Don’t sit in row 46, every time the food came near us, the steward disappeared in to the back galley to replenish, then started serving liquor to the forward section AGAIN. We al watched with baited breath as the food cart craft towards us. Two steps forward, 3 steps back. Finally lunch arrived for our row. I was seated with a couple from Australia travelling to Thailand to celebrate a wedding. He was Australian and she was South African. Lunch being over I felt the need to visit the toilet. Unfortunately, the remains of my lunch being on my lap, plus the complimentary pillow and blanket, I had to wait for the stewards to return and remove the trays. One hour later I was able to get up and go to the heads (as it’s called on ships and aeroplanes, to relieve myself).
I think I caught the cold the day before I left, so Thursday on the plane, I wore a mask to make sure that my coughing didn’t infect anybody else! By this time I had started to strain my throat and swallowing became difficult. We had been promised beer on the return of the lunch cart, so we had grabbed some wine in the meantime. The cart did not eventuate or never got to us. So into the after to relieve the coughing.
The cabin lights were dimmed to allow shrieking children to be lulled off to sleep, even though it was bright sunshine outside but Australia was moving into darkness, while we were chasing the sun. I watched a film, entirely with subtitles, as I couldn’t connect my Bluetooth earphones to the headset in the back of the seat and I couldn’t connect to the airlines’ wifi. Actually I could connect, but it demanded a password, which seemed I would have to pay for! Never mind I turned on the map to see where we were, just north of Alice Springs, it seems, only 8 hours to go.
It what seemed like Millenia we arrived in Bangkok, now appropriately in darkness.
The following conversation occurred between me and Peter.
Love ❤️ Papu “
Friday was reasonably quiet, but I was coughing regularly so I took it easy in the room. Later on that evening we went out again to a beer garden but I was completely zonked so I went home at 7 pm and woke up at 7 am the next morning. Feeling better more refreshed. Took a walk out side and took a few photos.
